AGO Solitaire gives children a way to practice reading AGO cards independently at home or during quiet classroom time. It can be played with AGO Q&A or AGO Phonics cards.
Use only cards numbered 1 to 9 and set up the game like Klondike Solitaire, but with five columns instead of seven. Treat the 1 card as the ace and the 9 card as the king.
Build downward by placing a card on the next higher number—for example, place a 6 on a 7 or a 7 on an 8. Unlike traditional Klondike, cards of any color may be placed on one another.
The goal is to move all four colors into ordered piles from 1 to 9. Players should read each Q&A or Phonics card aloud whenever they move or reveal it.
This is primarily a reading and recognition activity rather than a speaking game, but it provides useful repetition for individual learners.
